About DaysLeftly

DaysLeftly answers everyday date questions quickly and clearly: how many days until a holiday, what date it will be 90 days from now, or how many weeks are left in the year.

Who makes it

DaysLeftly is made by Vijay Jadhav, a data journalist based in Pune, India. Working with numbers every day taught one lesson: a figure is only useful if people can trust it and read it at a glance. That is the idea behind this site.

How the numbers are calculated

• Every count is worked out in your own browser using your local time zone, so it changes at your midnight.
• "Days until" does not count today. Weekends count each Saturday in between, and working days count Monday to Friday.
• Public holidays are not removed from working-day counts, because they vary by country.
• Holiday rules come from official sources. Dates for lunar holidays such as Diwali, Ramadan and Eid are estimates and can move by a day.
